Paula L. Phillips M.D.

Dr. Phillips is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine as a specialist in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.

Dr. Phillips is in private practice with Dr. Michelle Welch at Diabetes and Metabolism Specialists of San Antonio. She began in January 2008 and she maintains a full practice of Endocrinology and Diabetes including both a outpatient clinic and a hospital consultant practice.

Before going into private practice, she was an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Diabetes with UTHSC-SA at the Texas Diabetes Institute for eight years., where she worked with Dr. Charles Reasoner and under the leadership of Dr. Ralph Defronzo,

She is a graduate of Texas Tech University HSC School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine internship and residency at Scott and White in Temple, Texas through Texas A&M College of Medicine and then completed a clinical Endocrinology fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia.
